The Cobblestone Bridge

For their destines were intertwined.
Son of adam, daughter of eve.

On that day, were they to wed.
Memories faded and dreams erased.

The cold abyss brought through the bridge,
And autumn leaves flew through the sky.

Her dress, a silky, crumpled white.
And eyes of crystal, blue and bright.

His skin was softest of the pale,
Whispy hair, long and frail.

“Here we are on this forth day . . .
Bringeth here, the simple rings.”

An exchange of vows were taken soon,
Ever so soft and gentle were they.

A gust of wind blew mighty strong.
“I do.” Was heard, but barely there.

The cold abyss brought through the bridge,
And autumn leaves flew through the sky.

There was something wrong that lay in her heart,
What she had done, was it right?

Son of adam, daughter of eve,
For their hearts, now lay as only one.
